The DHL, an international logistic giant, opened its new logistics center in the Kansai International Airport (KIX) on June 7th. The new facility is five times as big as old one, and introduced automatic sorting equipments for the first time. The machine can handle cargoes three times faster than conventional equipments. The company is aiming to deal with the start of KIX's 24 hours-a -day operation, and to increase transaction volume of cargoes from/to Asian countries.
The amount of DHL's investment is about JPY 5 billions ($41 millions) including buildings.
