Department store sales in the Kansai region decreased by 1.1% over the previous year in May. This is the third consecutive month to decrease. Although sales in Kyoto was robust, slumps in Osaka and Kobe harmed the figure. Shorter golden week holidays and the rainfall on the last day of golden week holidays also contributed to the disappointing result.

5月の関西圏百貨店売り上げが対前年比1.1％低下した。3か月連続の低下。京都の売り上げは好調だったが、大阪と兵庫の落ち込みが響いた。短めのゴールデンウィークと最終日の雨も売上に影響した。
