Kansai based companies increased the current profits of FY 2006 by 17%.
According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, the companies locating their head quaters in the Kansai region, or western part of Japan, increased the current profits of FY 2006 by 17%. The growth rate of the Kansai region exceeded the national average. Kansai based companies increased their current profits for the fifth straight years.
